2001 Mercedes Benz CLK320 Transmission
For some reason my 2001 clk 320 check engine light comes on and of at random times and never showed any symptoms of anything being wrong well just the other day the speedometer just stopped working and the car won't shift in to 3rd gear what could this be?

You may be experiencing an electrical fault in your transmission control module. The affect you mentioned on the speedometer may be affected by this as well. I would recommend bringing the vehicle in to have the fault codes read.
