1998 Mercedes Benz CLK320 Repair Question

1998 Mercedes Benz CLK320 engine wont start
can someone help me figure out what is wrong with my car. engine would crank but sounded like something broke and clanked under the hood like something broke and was sounding like a pin ball machine. everytime would try tocrank the light would dim and then get brighter.

Either you are experiencing some major internal engine issues or your starter has completely internally seperated. You will need to have this looked at by a professional. If this is an internal engine issue continually trying to start the vehicle will damage the motor more each time.
