when I start my car there is a rattling noise under the car when I am in park and when I am driving. If I'm in park the rattling is heard under the car when I hit the accelerator.

This is pretty typical of a failed catalytic converter. When these go out they tend to rattle inside the exhaust. This is without a doubt what you are experiencing.
