1998 Mercedes Benz C230 weird noise...
Transmission problem
1998 Mercedes Benz C230 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles
My problem started yesterday, I started the vehicle and a weird noise coming from underneath the vehicle. I noticed that the noise is there only when it is on Park or Neutral, If it is on Drive or Reverse its gone. What could be the problem?

Can you describe the noise. Is it a metallic sound? Is it a rattle? Do you here clunking? Please elaborate a little more on the noise.
