1986 Mercedes Benz 560sl starting
Electrical problem
1986 Mercedes Benz 560sl V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 147000 miles
when i turn the key, nothing happens. The guages do not move, the radio plays, but the engine will not turn over. it seems like is is out of gas. after a while i can turn the key, the gauges will work and the car will start. it just started happening.

Did you meant the engine will crank and will not start or just won't crank at all/nothing.

The engine turns over, it sounds the same as if it had no fuel. It turns, or cranks if that is the correct term. During this phase, the gauges do not move. After awhile, I can turn the key, the gauges move and the vehicle starts like normal. I did experience the vehicle loosing power when I was driving it. It just seemed to have cut off. I pulled over. It restarted without a problem. This is a new issue. I have parked the vehicle for now.
