1985 Mercedes Benz 500sel engine misfire & stalling

Hi my sel 500 has been misfiring at idle and always. After starting the engine it stalls after 1-2 mins at idle.

i have got all the spark plugs, spark plug cables, fuel pump, fuel filter checked but still problem persisits.

please advice.

I have an 84 with the same problem. I found that I can assist the air valve opening when revving the engine. I'm trying to find out what activates the air valve because I think that's the root of the problem.
