1977 Mercedes Benz 450sl Windshield Wiper linkage, how do I

1977 Mercedes Benz 450sl V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I pulled down the driver side lower dash panel where I can view the main wiper arm connected to the wiper motor. Both wipers will move in tandem when moved by hand, so I believe the linkage between these two segments are not connected. I removed the glove box and radio but cannot get a visual of the linkage. I'm looking for detailed instructions to get this problem solved. Thanks.

If the linkage is messed up on your wipers, the only way to remove and repair them is to take out the dash. That basically means a full gut of the passenger compartment, as you have to take out the center console to remove the dash, and you have to take out the seats to remove the center console. About the only thing that stays in is the carpet.
