Car wont start

1987 Mercedes Benz 420sel 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112000 miles
My mercedese 420 sel 1987 ran out of gas this AM and of coarse filled it up and got back home. Now my car will not start it turns over and almost starts but keeps killing. what seems to be the problem . Trash in fuel line? I recently have changed feul pump, relay switches and then some,

Check the fuel pressure with gauge to rule out the fuel filter, clogged intank pick up screen could also be the fuel pump again running it dry
