1998 Mercedes Benz 320e Two Wheel Drive Automatic 146000 miles
My coolant fan is making a lot of noise and has a severe wobble. I beleive that the water pump needs to be changed. Does this sound like a reasonable assesment & how difficult is it (how many bolts etc.)

with the engine off, grasp the fan blade and see if the fan motor mounting or fan blade came loose from the shaft or motor housing. Sounds like you need a new motor with a fan blade. fans should be electric, not ran by the water pump.
