Shakes or Wobbles problem
1987 Mercedes Benz 300sd 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 300+ miles
Going down the interstate at 50+mph has a vibration. At times car is very smooth on smooth surfaces. So I don't think it is a tire. Sat in the backseat once while my son was driving and heard a poping noise coming from the rear left wheel area. I think it is probably a cv joint or axle. I've tried looking for a whole axle assembly, but can only find cv parts. Does anyone sell the whole assembly or is just the outer joint parts only needed. I've heard the inner joints rarely go bad. Also heard it could be the driveshaft support. Your thoughts??
