Timing marks

Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Mercedes Benz 190e 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 190000 miles

i need to know the timing marks on a 190e
the one on the cam is the one i'm having issues with
i know TDC but where does the mark on the cam point. i was told it sits even with the right side of the head. but that is not right, so a little help would be great. thanks.

well see the mark ....mine isn't that close to the rocker. mine is closest to the sprocket, i lined it up like that shows ....and i'm not getting compression, it had compression before...
and it's a 2.3
and also it a, jan-1988 190e
if this matters, sometimes it does.
