1987 Mercedes Benz 190e engine wont start after new head ga

I just put new head gaskets on and now I don't know where I went wrong. I have checked everything I can think of, but I cant get the car to start and it keeps running the battery down

not sure if I have the timing right I cant get the bolt to the bottom pulley off to see the timing mark on the sprocket. I was wondering if there is a notch or a mark on the pulley or the damper that indicates where the mark is aligned ..... pleas help and thank you in advance.
