I changed the oil at 3000 miles, that was 9 months ago. I know I screwed up, its been an intense 9 months, I put on my trip counter so that added to the confusion, whenI had a conscious moment I saw that I was at 6000miles, (it was really18000 on the odometer)way late for an oil change. Anyway the engine light came on I pulled over right away, and the dealer says there is no oil in the engine because of a cracked timing belt cover. Verdic no warrenty coverage $7500 damage, no truck. So here's my Question, is it reasonable to assume that because I didn't change the oil for 15000 in a new truck that that would blow the engine. I've bought three cars from this dealer in the last ten years. And I still have an 20005 Mpv with 48000 miles on it. They aren't even considering that it might be something else. I'm going in to make my case tomorrow any advise to help my position. Or am I justup the creek with out a truck. Thanks len

Verdic no warrenty coverage $7500 damage, what was damage? Did the engine blew up before you pulled over-for that amount you can get an engine for less than the amount.

Can you crank the engine over-or it cranks over and refuses?

It wasn't sounding that good so I turned it off. Is it due to knocking noise or whatever

Not major knocking small rapping. The dealer has it torn down, bearings are shot. Pieces of metal in the oil, its like I'm dealing with a stone wall. Its not their fault and thats that. My warranty says that if the damage is caused by lack of oil. I can't find out what caused it. Theres no sludge etc, theres no oil in the engine, becaused it leaked out of the crack, yes thats why the engine blew, but what caused the crack in the timing belt cover, answer, no oil, we are going around in circles, They are saying there was no oil in the engine, so where did the oil go?Lets say, worse case. After my first oil change I never looked at the oil again. So a brand new truck lost 5 quarts of oil in 15000 miles? 6 months. I don't think so. Do you?
