Do a compression test. Im no Mazda guy, but I have seen these things when they are done, you go out one day and it just wont start. If you manage to get it to fire, it will be fine until it cools (overnight), then in the AM it wont fire up

Ok ok rx 7's are tricky has it been sitting? There is some fuses under the hood and you need to pull one to turn off the injectors. Located on the drivers side by the front suspension post. This will clean out the fuel that has flooded it and re apply the compression seal, this seal is made by oil in a rotary engine. Once the fuse is pulled (green one closest to the engine) turn it over for awhile, like 30 seconds. Replace the fuse and try to start the car again. This will usually fix it when it doesnt start, I had to do this a lot to mine to get it to run if I quit starting mid start.

OK WE WILL TRY THAT. WE APPRECIATE THIS. WE LIVE IN THE PINEY WOODS OF EAST TEXAS AND THE NEAREST TOWN IS 7 MILES AWAY WITH A POPULATION OF 2000. THE NEXT IS BIGGER BUT NOT TOO BIG. IT IS HARD TO FIND HELP WITH THIS CAR. WE ARE CONSIDERING A NEW ENGINE BUT DO NOT KNOW IF THAT WOULD HELP IF THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS. WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING AN ENGINE-THE 13b NON TURBO. ANY SUGGESTIONS? ALSO ARE LOOKING FOR A DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE-DO NOT NEED THE WHOLE DOOR-JUST THE HANDLE. THANKS

Ok well you should be able to get the door handle from ebay, they are very easy to install had to do it myself. Also you can change out the key slot from the old one with a minimum of fuss. Also I found a while back a company out of california that sells rebuilt rotary's for pretty cheap. Also consider a rebuil, you can do it at home. Rotary's have three moving parts so all you really have to change is a bearing and the seals. Message me with more questions

What is the name of the company out in CA? I appreciate your time. I donated 20.00. Hope that helps. I also was asking about the 1999 S-10. We got it fixed. Turned out to be a corroded spark plug wire. Do you think rebuilding the Mazda motor will help? It is still not running. What do you recommend we replace when we do that?

I would recommend the oil and apex seals, I am still looking for the company. I am in the army and a lot of sites are blocked at work. Pretty much it's just some seal work and the main bearings on the crank. Not to hard of a job. I will get back to you with more info

CAN YOU SUGGEST SOME NAMES OF PLACES TO BUY AN ENGINE-NEW OR REBUILT. WE ARE IN TEXAS SO FREE SHIPPING WOULD BE GREAT. I HAVE A SON THAT WORKS IN DALLAS AT A CAR DEALERSHIP AND IT COULD BE SHIPPED THERE-PROBABLE AT A DISCOUNT. THANKS

Personally I have only installed new ones from Mazda. We have had too many bad experiences from rebuilders, and install nothing but dealer supplied engines.
