1986 Mazda RX7 Two Wheel Drive Manual 120000 miles

it was running just fine and after sitting for seven days now it wont start. It spins over just fine, it had a quarter of a tank of gas and I added 5 more gallons of high tess and it will only start on starting fluid and die again, my dad thinks thats it is the fuel pump and I think that it is the fuel pressure regulator. How can I know for sure what the problem is without wasting time and money that I dont have?

Remove the fuel line from the fuel filter and see if fuel comes out when you crank it over. Then take the line off of the "outside" of hte fuel filter and see if fuel comes through the filter. This will tell you if your pump is working and if you have a clogged filter.
