91 Protege Mazda. When I turn sharp(most of the time) I hear a clunking noise in front left and right side. I check the CV boot no tears. Car has 150K miles. Not sure if the front bearing are going bad or the CV joint is bad?

I had almost the same problem. I thought that the cv boot was bad and I lifted the car and it looked fine and had no play on it when I pulled on the shaft.
Turned out to be the front bearing. Found that problem by simply grasping the tire and wiggling it top and bottom. If there was any movement the bearing is bad and needs to be replaced.
Well that was my problem. You can still have a perfectly looking cv boot and still have an internal problem.

Dont know if this helps but good luck
