1996 Mazda Protege idle air control valve resistance

Can you confirm info from my manual: resistance reading on terminals in the IAC valve should be between 10.2 and 12.7? Mine reads 8.8 (ohms) and I suspect this is causing poor idling (in D, 1 and 2, R, but not generally while moving; it just drops RPM a nd wants to stall upon stopping). Thanks

Clean the IACV and see what happens and also test the TPS sensor
