1992 Mazda Protege Battery Charger light

i just noticed my battery charger light comes on and when I give gas the light starts to get dim. It has never happened before. Please help me out

Hi there, start with getting the alternator charge rate checked, you alternator may be starting to fail, the light is an indication the the charge rate is to low.
