1992 Mazda MX3 Check Engine Light

1992 Mazda MX3 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 117000 miles
I want to know how to make my check engine light go away. Since I do not have access to an OBD1 scanner, I was just wondering if there was another way to do this. The light originally turned on because I had some of the old spark plug wires arching over to each other but I have fixed that problem and now want to have the check engine light turn off.

Disconnect the battery for a few mins. if it comes back find the check connector and jumper the TEN and GND -if the check engine light starts flashing record it and comeback with the code/s
