I have a 1990 Mazda MPV 4x4 just bought it off craigslist. Owner said there were no problems with the van. However, the belts are brand new and very loud. They broke once we had them replaced, and they are still very loud. It is not getting any better whether the car is cold or warmed up. It makes noise constantly to the point where we rarely drive it because its so lud and very embarassing. We have been told to take out the air conditiong pump and that would solve the problem. Is this true? If not any idea of why the belts are so loud when they are brand new? And we know its not because they need to be tightened either. Please help.

Hey I have a Mazda 929 and when I got a new altenator it was making this horrible loud squealing sound. My problem was that the power stern belt was loose. You might want to go get it tighten up a little. And they did minds for free! It only took 10 seconds
