Like the title says, my wife's MPV headlights just started acting up:

Low beams don't work, high Beams do.

Funny thing is when you put the low beams on - the high beam light in the dash stays on but no beams at all(?). High beams work fine. Wierd.

Fuses and bulbs are ok.

Seems to be either the switch in the stalk or the relay, but I am wondering if the relay is bad then both high aND LOW BEAM would probally NOT WORK? Does someone have a schematic they can look and to see hw this could happen?

Relay or stalk switch?

Hello and thanks for donating

Your vehicle only has one relay for the headlights, if it were to fail than both high and low beams would fail. The most likely culprit here would be the multifunction (headlight/dimmer) switch.

As I suspected - sounds expensive. Is it a modular switch at the base of the turn signal arm or do you have to buy the whole thing? Go an exploded parts list handy?

The entire dimmer, headlight, turn signal combination switch will have to be replaced.

The part brand new will cost around $80 and labor should be approx. $100 not including tax. The repair will only take around 1 1/2 hours at an experienced shop.
