1993 Mazda MPV Brake Light Switch

When you step on the brake pedal of my MPV, the dash lights come on, and when you turn the headlights on, the brake lights stay lit constantly. Is it a headlight switch, brake light switch or simply a ground short somewhere. We never had this problem until we had a body and paint job done on the vehicle last fall.

Our van is doing the same thing. We are going to remove the taillights and see if a wire is pinched etc after they were reinstalled from a body job.

Check if the ground of the rear taillights heve been secured well or has paint on them resulting in poor contact.
