While the engine is on, when I press on the accelerator, whether the car is moving or not, the "charge'" "rear light, " and the "Leveler" lights on the dashboard go on. When I step off the accelerator, the go off most of the time.

Hi
Maybe a faulty diode in alternator a scope test of alternator will show if restifier bridge is faulty. Check alternator voltage output with meter see if voltage is steady as RPM goes up.

The alternator output varies very little. It goes up from 17.8 V at idle to maybe 18.5 V at 3000 RPM.

I may have neglected to say that everthing other than the dashboard lights appears to be working.

Thanks

Alternator output out of range Mazda specs 14.7 to 15.5 at 3000. All the lights that come on have a diode in circuit to prevent current flow possible high out put has fried diodes. Allowing voltage to travel to lights.
