What does the "Hold" light indicate? It just came on while I was driving. Turned the car off and restarted - "Hold" is still on.

Thanks for quick reply.

The "HOLD" light is an indicator that the PCM has recorded a fault in the trans or speed sensing circuit. You need to have it scanned to see what is wrong.

The hold light can also indicate you have pressed the Hold button on the gear selector. It allows you to force the transmission to stay in the selected gear (will not downshift or upshift unless absolutely necessary), and is easily pressed on accident if you're not aware of it. It can be useful for engine braking down steep hills, but you'll generally want to leave it turned off.
