In the last couple years I have replaced nearly all of the cooling compontes on my car the radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses and all the corrosponding gaskets, but recently after the water pump, and thermostat change the car eats up antifreeze, and while driving will almost overheat then about when it gets to the H the tempature will suddenly drop back down to normal. The head gasket is fine, my oil is clean, it is a well maintained car so I am just confused any suggesttions?

Hi there,

Start with head check, this is a simple chemical test to check for exhaust gasses in the cooling system, also get the cooling system pressure tested for external leaks, the coolant loss must be either a leak or going through the engine, start here.
