If I got the timing wrong on my truck could it bend my valves? I did the timing all wrong and my truck will turn over but will not start. And when I first got it all put back togeather it made a clicking sound like the battery was dead then started to turn over. I was replacing the the head gasket and the timing is the only thing I got wrong. It has never started since I got it back togeater. Could I have bent the valves since I put it back togeater. They were fine befor hand.

Its a non interference engine-What you need to do is put the engine no. 1 piston on compression stroke/TDC and reline the cam and crank sprockets with pulley at TDC/0 and make sure the rotor is pointing to the no. Cap tower.
