I just recently got this car, and sine I got it I have had problems with the clutch. At first it would not go in to gear when the car was on, I spoke to someone about this and he said to pump the clutch a few times before driving because most likely there was just air in the lines. I did this and sure enough it worked. But only for a few days, today it started refusing to go in to gear no matter what I did. Now if you can get it in to gear it wants to continue to drive with the clutch pushed all the way down. At first I thought this problem was do to the slave cylinder needing replaced but now I am afraid the clutch has gone out. Its a new clutch only 500 miles tops on it. Whats wrong?

Hi AJ,

Well, it could be either the Clutch Master Cylinder and or the Clutch Slave Cylinder. I have made it a practice to replace them both instead of trying one then needing to get the other. I don't believe it is the clutch. If you could pump the clutch peddle and it would shift for a while then it would be in the hydraulic clutch system.

Have you check the fluid level in the Clutch Master Cylinder? If low have you looked under the vehicle to see if there may be a leak?
