Belt sweaking has turned into a buzzing sound. LOUD when first start, quiets after 10 minutes or so. I have had 3 different opinions. Help me? Is is the Serpentine Belt, the Timing Belt, or the Alternator belt? There is a great difference in cost.
Don't have money, job, or credit cards. Sorry.
Sincerely, Mardi Mallardi

Hi there,

this dose sound like a serpentine belt, you can remove it and start the car just to prove that it is this belt making the noise,

...is loud, and soft after 10 minutes of driving. Menioned the Serpentine Belt, but someone else mentioned the timing Belt. Which is it? If I replace the Serpentine Belt, and the noise continues, what then?

Hi there,

Timing belts don't cause many noise problems, they can squeal if the is an engine oil leak onto the belt from a cam seal or crank seal, you can check for this first maybe,
