Transmission problem
1992 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

While accelerating down the highway, the car was pulling to the left ans I was shifting through gears, I got up to 100km/h and then the pulling to the left stopped and smoothed out, I heard and felt a clunk, it continued, the car reved up as if I wasn't in gear, I could push the car while it was in gear. What could have possibly gone wrong?

Hi there,

I feel that you may have snapped a main shaft in the gear box, although a clutch failure, diff or drive shaft failure can also produce this problem, start with looking at the drive shafts, if they are ok, the box will have to come out.
