1999 Mazda 323 How to remove rear door trim on 5 door hatch

I wish to repair the electronic door lock on a 5 door hatch back 323 and so need to remove the interior door trim. In particular the arm rest which appears to hold the trim to the door frame.
How is this removed without damage please ?
