While driving on this past sunday, I started to hear a clicking noise in the rear of my 2003 Lincoln towncar. After I stopped, I examined the right rear wheel well and it had fluid all over the wheel well, tire and rotar, brakes. 1) repair shop said that I needed a "Right Rear Axle" and "Brake Pad Replacement". 2) Said that all I needed was a "Rear Axle Seal and Bearing Kit". Now I'm confused. Any answer's or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

OK what they are saying is that the rear axle seal is leaking. So what they want to do is pull the axle inspect it and replace the bearing and seal. Now if the axle is grooved then you will to put in a new or good used axle. The brake pads need to be replaced because they are now soaked with gear oil. How much do they want to charge? I will look it up to make sure it isn't to much.
