Heater problem
1993 Lincoln Town Car 6 cyl Automatic 180000 miles

Hello, now that the temp has reached freezing in my city approximately, 2 days ago I had my coolant system flushed. The heater started working fine on the way to work, but on the way home, thankfully, I was warned that if I experienced a "fogging" of the windows, which is what happened, that would signal my heater core would need replacing! As with almost everyone in these critical times I can not afford to go to a dealership to have it replaced and the mechanic has expressed the expense that I would have, as well as his fears on fixing it because of having to remove the dashboard. This is my primary mode of transportation. I am feeling a overwhelming since of hopelessness right now, can you help? Please.

Thank you in advance.

To give you a little relief, the dashboard does not need to be removed to remove/replace the heater core.
Here is a tip -
Do not have any repairs done at a dealership.

Reason: The replacement parts cost double and labor fee is through the roof, compared to many independent repair centers.
Ask around or call "AAA" for information of a reputable repair facility near your location.

Good Luck;
Rick
