My 2000 Lincoln LS has #4 cylanoid miss firing what do you think the problem is. This is a salvage car my husband redid. He thought it sounded like it wants to flood.

I recently had the same issue. With a Check Engine light on. They told me that #2 & #8 were mis-firing. The problem was coming from the boot on the coil pak. The boot was swelled with oil due to a valve cover gasket leak that I had, valve cover gaskets were replaced and the check engine light came on within a week with the misfiring problem.

The garage said that the boot could not be purchased separately and the coil paks would be $114 each, while a local parts store had them for $55 each.

Not sure if that helps, but that was my experience.
