I was driving on highway about 70 mph and my oil light came on, sounded like knocking coming from the engine, something flew out from underneath the car and the car stalled all in a matter of about 15 seconds. Now car won't start. People keep telling me the engine is blown, could it be something else? The battery and oil lights come on when I try to start it, and the gauges all shoot to the right then go back to their original position. Did not see any holes I oil pan or any oil on or under engine, and oil is still in the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

This does not sound very promising, will the engine still crank on the key, if so can you do a comp test? Are there any fluid leaks at all? Coolant oil?

It won't turn over, it makes a noise like it is trying to start for a split second, but it can't do anything. Like it seized up. Just strange cause I haven't had any problems prior. I don't see any leaks from anywhere & all of the fluid levels are full. I have to jump it to make it do anything, but I had a friend tow it with a dolly and it was about an hour trip with the hazards on so I think that kinda killed my battery.

If you can't turn it over, there is a good chance that you have spun a bearing or broken a con rod, but I do feel that it is fairly terminal, I would be pulling the engine down and seeing if it is repairable.
