1979 Lincoln Continental misfire

My lincoln starts and runs fine for about 8 miles then it misses like its running on 3 or 4 cylinders. It wont accelerate but when I stop it stalls and then straight away I start it again and it runs great. Im confused by this as it does not smoke at all. Its had new ht leads, distributor cap, filters, and a new carb. What can cause this.

Have you looked at the carb when it dies before restart? Be sure the choke isnt falling shut. Could be an iginition module or pick-up coil in the distributor shorting as well
