A couple weeks ago my bird blew a hole in the radiator (this day was one of those days) I was in a small town I didn't know but I pulled over somewhere public. Nice man stopped just as I was pulling off the air filter components and he pulled my radiator completely out, and patched the small hole with jb weld just so I could at least make it home an hour and a half away. Running on water instead of coolant because the only gas station there didn't have it, I made it just outside of the city limits where I live. Boom. Run out of gas. (Sigh) so I have my Roomate come to the rescue start the car. Drive away but wait! My rpms are skyrocketing almost to 8rpms before I let off the gas. I'm stuck In either 2nd or 3rd wasn't sure, and low gears weren't working. I took it home 30 mph the whole way and finally today I replaced both transmission solenoids, the filter, gasket, and the fluid. Patch up the radiator the correct way and put coolant. Fires up perfectly, finally warms up not overheating okay good lets reverse. Or not. It didn't make a sound a movement, NOTHING. But it went into drive. It went into Park. I let it idle some more, strange noise starts coming from below my shifter (oil pan) I turn the car off, look under and trans fluid has spewed out from somewhere on that pan. What did I do wrong? And what is wrong? Sorry for the story I'm very detailed about my baby.

I tmay have blown something and you puked oil out vent which isn't good. Something may be blocked or filter wasn't put in all theway and leaked air. Have a trans guy look at it.

I'm trying to avoid the trans shops where I live, jacked prices just because they can and anybody here would just say "gotta rebuild the whole thing" but I know it doesn't need to be rebuilt. Could I have put the gasket on wrong?

Unless you dropped the valve body and reading your question you didn't I would look where filter goes in it may have an o-ring that wasn't removed or the filter is n't in all theway and it's leaking air. Also if fluid was dark brown or black the trans is probably bad and time for anew one. Also check your electrics going to trans it may have a broken wire etc. Otherwise go where you don't want to take it.
