2003 Lexus SC 430 electric antena mast

2003 Lexus SC 430 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 18000 miles
I'm trying to replace the antena mast as it will not go all the way down. I bought a new one from Lexus. I unscrewed the nut that hold the antena and tyry to pull out the ols mast but foundit very hard so gave up being afraid to cause any damage. Antena motor works good as antena does go up but not down all the way. Please tell me the way to fix this issue.

You need to remove the entire power mast assembly and open it up to replace the mast. You will have to lossen the old mast mounting from thr power unit and electrically run the mast all the way out. You mat just have to clean and re-luibricate the internals of the existing system and make that work just fine.
