2006 Other Lexus Models Lexus 400h Engine Air Filter

Engine Cooling problem
2006 Other Lexus Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 66000 miles

Where in the Lexus 400h engine is air filter located and how do I replace it? I haven't been able to find a diagram online. Is there any risk or contact with the big hybrid battery when I replace the filter? Thanks for your assistance

Hello –

I have two pics below. The one gives you the overall view with the arrow pointing to the air filter.

The next is a bigger view of just the filter. The arrow is pointing to the clips that hold the filter assemble together. There are probably clips all the way around. Be careful you can snap them off where they connect.

There doesn’t appear to be. The manual doesn’t’ state anything.

1. INSPECT AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUBASSEMBLY
a. Remove the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner case.
b. Visually check that there is no dirt, clog, and damage to the air cleaner filter element.
HINT:
• If there is any dirt or a clog on the air cleaner filter element, clean it with compressed air.
• If any dirt or a clog remains even after cleaning the air cleaner filter element with compressed air, replace it.

My suggestion. I place a thick towel over the batter sometimes just in case. Gives me that extra comfort.

Hello –

Also, it looks like you may have a recall on your vehicle. The dealer may fix this for free. Please contact the dealer service department, give them the VIN number of your car and have them check on this to see if it applies to you.
