i have just acquired my ls400 and was told by the seller that the fogging up of the unit display is a common fault .i have acqired a replacement and would a ppreciate some guidance as to remove the old unit .thanks

Do you mean the a/c heater control assembly?
Remove register from above radio, remove upper shift console panel,disconnect connectors necesary for removal.remove 4 screws. remove radio and heater control assembly together.Remove 2 screws to seperate the radio and controller, reverse procedure to install

hi jack.thanks for your answer to my query.my LS400 does not have apart between the air con panel and the radio.also the shift console is in one piece.i take it that when you say register you mean a narrow strip my vehicle has not got one sorry to be a pain .regards geoff

Without the car, all I can do is what my software says. The radio and controller mount to each other. The register is the vents.What is the exact production date fom inside the door sill on the sticker? Differnet year might have different instructions

Need the production date.Open drivers door, should be a White sticker on the inner door frame or on the door where the latch is.

hi thanks for your patience in tryinng to sort my problem.i realise that you can only give a limited amount of info.so i am gratefull for the help that you have given .there is one more thing that i would appreciate can you tell me how to remove the heater vent as i can't see any screws.thanks again regards geoff

Most of the time things like that just pop in and out.The clips can be a little tight and take some effort
