When I'm driving my ES 300 at highway speeds (65-75 mph) and brake to slow the car down, the car shakes. It's more noticeable if I brake suddenly due to slow traffic but as the car slows down the shaking goes away. Is it brake pads or rotors? and how much do you think it would cost me to have it repaired? Should I take it to the Lexus dealer or my local Meineke? Thank you so much.

HI there,

This is typical brake shudder caused by warped brake rotors, they can be machined so your local mechanic will be able to take care of this job, if the rotors are under sized already they will have to be replaced, just be aware of this point as well.
