Steering problem
1995 Lexus ES 300 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi, 1995 Lexus ES300 here. About the power steering, I hear about people cleaning the solenoid for better fluid flow. I don't know how many solenoids are in the power steering, or if they are connected to the pump itself. I never had a problem other than a pump leak, I've bought a replacement pump complete with hydraulic cooling fan, and since I'm going to replace it I might aswell clean the solenoid while I'm there, but not sure where they are located, also, what is best used to cleaning this type of solenoid? thanks.

Hi there, I feel that the value of pulling the solenoid valve is next to zero, there is no advantage to be gained doing this, changing the pump and the oil change will be enough, i have added a pic if the hydraulic system, but as i said, touching the valve will have no real advantage at all.
