My range rover has many problems. but my most important one right now is that just today i turned it off an the starter will spin but not click or even crank the engine. ive read around and there are many different answers. bu none that worked. what might be the problem? for better detail, when i try starting the car the engine is silent and the starter sounds like its missing. just spinning.

If the starter is engaging the engine and not turning over-the starter overrunning clutch is slipping.
