2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 starting problems

When starting my suv, I get clicking noise instead of starting, have new battery.
is this the starter motor or the alternator.

Check the wiring to the starter motor. If this checks OK. TAP/HIT the starter a few time with a hammer and attempt to start vehicle if this does not work. Replace starter
