2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 ALARM NOT DEACTIVATING

I disarmed the alarm by the remote and when I put the key into the ignition and turn to start the car, the alarm goes off and doesn't start. Wondering if I had sqeezed the alarm button while turning the igition, how can I stop the alarm from sound unpon turning the igition? Please help

There should be a 4 digit code in the vehicles handbook. To disable the alarm/immobolizer using the drivers door lock cylinder. The explanation of how to do this is also in the handbook !
