2001 kia sportage has an automatic transmission, RWD, 4 cylinder.
As I was driving at 55-65MPH and it seemed like it wasnt getting enough gas
(I had a full tank) so I shifted into neutral and revved the engine, no problem, I shifted back into drive and it felt like it wasnt getting gas again. I pulled over checked oil, water, and transmission fluids and everything was fine. I shut the vehicle off waited a few minutes and started it back up. Revved the engine in park, ran fine, threw it in drive and drove with no problems. Soon after it felt like it was running out of gas again (sputtering along and idling erratically ) its starts at about 3000 RPM and slowly works its way down to around 1000 RPM. It does not die, just idles.

Can you give me any ideas?

Has the check engine light come on? Has the fuel pump pressure been tested?

Thanks for the reply, but not really, I watched for three days with no reply. We in this day and age having to get to work and make a living need our vehicles, by trying to save some money by fixing it ourselves looking for information on the internet, but this is not free it was a waste of my time. So I took it to the shop to get it fixed. For the next person that might really need the help: it was the fuel pump and to save time take out the back seat to access the pump through the floor board. Goodbye! I don't need this kind of help, it took over TWO WEEKS to respond by the way.

I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you quicker. We really do try. We answer in the area of 10,000 postings per month. I do near 2K of them, but they come in faster than we can answer. I know that ANY donation will get your question answered withing 24 hours, but like you, I understand what it is to make ends meet.

Regardless, if you have a question in the future, add it to this posting and I'll see it in my personal email and get back to you usually within a day.

I'm glad you got it fixed, and if I would have been quicker, we would have figured it out together.
