I have a Kia Spectra 2001 model. When the engine is cold, it refuses to start. after cranking a few times, it ignites with a shake and stalls. The start after this is perfect. have replaced the fuel pump, checked the alternator, battery, starter motor, plugs etc. but unable to find the cause of the problem.

It sounds like a bad temp sensor. It tells the computer how rich or lean to make the fuel mixture based on ambient temp and coolant temp. Have you ever noticed if any black smoke comes from the exhaust when it starts?

No black smoke when the engine starts up.. The temp sensor was also changed.

https://www.2carpros.com/how_to/how_to_check_fuel_pressure.htm

This is a how to for checking fuel pressure. It explaines how to check pressure, the fuel pressure regulator, and drop off. WHen you shut the key, the fuel pressure should remain steady for a period of time. If it drops quickly, that is a problem.

You will need a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you.

Let me know what you find.
