2003 Kia Sorento Won't start

2003 Kia Sorento 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I drove the vehicle one day, then went to drive it that night and it wouldn't start. Starter goes click, click click click. Also, now can't get the shifter out of park. Are the two related? Any suggestions are welcome....Thanks!!
