2001 Kia Rio loses power on acceleration

Engine Performance problem
2001 Kia Rio 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 122000 miles

My kia suddenly lost acceleration power. Then came good and did it again. I put my foot down on the accelerator and it helped a bit. The fuel pump has been replaced but I recently put 95 octane unleaded fuel > I usually use the 98 Would this be the cause ie bad petrol
