2001 Kia Rio 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I recently took my car on a lengthy trip, about 500 miles and after my return the car sat overnight and now has been running sluggish, like it can't get enough power. This mostly happens in 1st and 2nd gear when I'm taking off or slowing down. When I take off from a stop it struggles to gain speed and then when I get going it evens out but I can still notice a decrease in power. I have also noticed the temperature gauge is higher than normal, not alarmingly so but an observation. Thank you
