sometimes my door on the drivers side will not unlock from the inside. This morning I had to crawl out the passenger door in order to get out of my car. All of the doors were unlocked but the drivers door did not recogonize that the door was unlocked.

Chances are the linkage in the door is disconnected. You need to remove the door panel to access the linkage. Once you are in, check for broken parts or clips that have come off allowing the linkage to become disconnected.

My husband and I just went through this same thing with our 2004 Kia Optima. He changed the accuator and he checked the linkage. In the end what worked beautifully is that he replaced the lock on the driver door. I am horrible with mechanical things so bear with me. When I say the lock, I am talking about whole key hold lock next to the handle. It didnt take him long and it has been working ever since. I can now get in and out of my car through the drivers side.
